DQ Recognised for Excellence

An influential legal directory has again recognised DQ as a leading law firm for international private wealth.

Chambers and Partners annual High Net Worth Guide has been released, ranking the top lawyers and law firms in key jurisdictions and recognising individual lawyers and associates for excellence in their respective areas of specialism.

DQ Director and Head of Private Client, Trusts & Pensions, Annemarie Hughes, has again achieved the highest individual ranking possible in the Offshore: Trusts category (Band One). In addition, the firm has maintained its Band Two ranking in the same category.

The year 2020 marks a decade with the company for Annemarie who regularly advises high net worth individuals and families, as well as working closely with local fiduciary, trust and pension service providers.

The guide features a number of positive client comments such as: ‘She is caring and knowledgeable with a tax background that helps when assisting with clients.

‘Very responsive, very helpful and a great lawyer, she (Annemarie) is very good at covering cross-border legal issues connected to the Manx view.’

The Douglas based team of specialist contentious and non-contentious trust and private client lawyers, which works with local and international trust clients, was also commended for its professional approach and quick turnaround time with one testimony describing them as a company ‘willing to go above and beyond to help the client’.

Commenting on the guide, Annemarie said: ‘We are incredibly proud to be recognised in such a well-regarded publication. The whole team at DQ is absolutely committed to providing our clients with the highest quality of advice and support. We really do care about our clients, many of whom we have worked with over many years and enjoy working alongside them to help them achieve their individual goals and finding collaborative solutions to meet their requirements.

‘Congratulations and thanks to the team for its achievements and hard work and, of course, a continued thanks to our clients and referees for their amazing feedback. We look forward to continuing to help our clients especially during what have been uncertain and difficult times.’

Considered the world’s leading guide to private wealth advisers, the London-based directory is compiled by a team of eight private wealth specialists, working as part of Chambers’ 200+ strong research team. The guide is used by family offices and professional advisors to provide impartial guidance on an international scale.

Every year it conducts thousands of in-depth interviews with clients to assess the reputations and expertise of business lawyers worldwide. The qualities it looks for include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness and astuteness.
