Our team is one of the largest dedicated employment law teams on the Isle of Man. Our team acts for a broad range of employees and employers, including financial institutions, public and private companies, fiduciary businesses and entrepreneurial start-ups.
Our team provides advice and assistance in respect of contentious and non-contentious employment issues concerning unfair dismissal claims, redundancy, discrimination claims, exits and restructuring, reviewing and updating contracts of employment and other policies, employment issues concerning mergers & acquisitions and GDPR advice in the employment context.
Our employment team dedicates time to understanding our clients’ business. Our ability to focus on fast, practical advice within a commercial context ensures the best outcome for our clients on issues ranging from day to day HR queries through to complex corporate restructuring and litigation. We help our clients to implement their HR policies and manage risk from employment legislation by providing training to HR teams and line managers in key areas such as handling performance and disciplinary issues.

- Advising a global CSP as regards a High Court claim for breaches of contract and fiduciary duty against a former director.
- Representing a multi-jurisdictional company in defending EET proceedings brought by a former executive to include allegations of breach of restrictive covenants.
- Advising the Association of School and College Leaders as regards inductrial action against the Department of Education.
- Advising a leading property company as regards the restructuring of its business, relocation of employees and closure of its Isle of Man office.
- Acting for a claimant in a factually complex constructive dismissal claim before the EET.
- Providing advice and strategy to a number of leading businesses as regards the removal of senior executives.
