Helen Fretwell is an associate director within the Corporate and Commercial Department at DQ.
Helen has extensive experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial disciplines. She routinely advises financial institutions, insurers, corporate service providers, onshore law firms and borrowers in both local and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
Helen’s experience also includes secondments to an Isle of Man fund administrator and a leading onshore retail bank as well as working within the Commercial Division of the Isle of Man Attorney General’s Chambers.
Helen’s specialist areas of practice are:
- Banking and asset finance
- Financial service regulation
- Commercial contracts
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Corporate governance
Helen received a First Class law degree from the University of Leeds where she was awarded the “Hughes Scholar Award” for an “Outstanding Graduate”. Helen also received the “Ella Olesen Scholarship” to study at the University of Idaho.
Helen is a member of the Isle of Man Law Society and an advocate of the Manx Bar.
