Head of Regulatory & Compliance Services, Sinead O’Connor, achieved her aim of walking to Peel, a distance of 32.5 miles. Speaking about the event, Sinead said “I took part in the Parish Walk for the first time last year and hit my target of 19 miles to Rushen. I was determined to make Peel this year and was delighted to get there in a good time. The whole day is a tremendous community initiative and it is great to see so many people taking part”.
Associate Adam Killip who has now finished the 85 mile course on five occasions, completed the full walk again this year in a time of 17 hours, 30 minutes and 40 seconds. Adam said ”The Parish Walk is a fantastic event which really demonstrates the superb community spirit that we have on the Isle of Man. The very hot weather made it hard going this year but I did some extra training compared with 12 months ago and I think that’s why I managed to beat my previous best time and position”.
In their day jobs, Adam and Sinead provide regulatory and compliance support to a range of clients in the financial services and designated businesses sectors. Whether it’s assisting clients with a complex regulatory challenge or determining the best way to comply with new regulation, you’ll find them as committed to that as they were to walking a combined distance of 117.5 miles!
